You will also identify and describe the important objects that make up the application, such as emails, users, folders, attachments, and filters.

To help guide you, we have provided an example analysis of Outlook, another popular email platform.


Example: Outlook Application Analysis

Functionalities of Outlook

  1. Email Sending and Receiving:
    • Users can send and receive emails with attachments.
    • Outlook supports multiple email accounts in one application.
    • Users can sync their contacts from their devices or cloud.
  2. Inbox Management:
    • Outlook automatically categorizes emails into Focused and Other tabs for improved organization.

  6. Filter/Rule:
    • Attributes: rule_id, criteria, action, user_id.
    • Relationships: Filters automatically organize emails into folders or mark them based on defined rules (e.g., sender, keywords).

Your Task: Analyzing Gmail Mobile Application

Following the example provided for Outlook, your task is to perform a similar analysis for Gmail. You are required to:

  1. List the functionalities that Gmail offers.
    • Consider features such as composing and sending emails, inbox management, categories (Primary, Social, Promotions), email filters, and integration with other Google services like Google Drive.
    • Include features like Gmail Labels, Snooze, Priority Inbox, Spam Protection, and Search.

    • Consider objects like User, Email, Label, Attachment, Filter, Conversation Thread, and Starred Messages.
